"Take a closer look at the gear that I am using myself:

drones, accessories, filmmaking and editing hard- and software.

The products listed below aren't always the latest and most expensive solutions: this page showcases the gear that I am using myself, keeping both quality and pricing in mind."

DJI Inspire 1 Pro Camera Drone

The Filmmaking Drone

My favorite drone for filmmaking is not the latest model on the market, but together with the beautiful X5 camera, it is the perfect drone for professional filmmaking on a budget.

DJI Mavic Pro Camera Drone

The Travelling Drone

My favorite drone for fast and on-the-go filming and flying.

Even though it has the size of a toy, it's camera beats many other drone models on the market.

DJI Phantom 4 Pro Camera Drone

The Flagship Drone

This drone might be the perfect drone for filmmakers who can't afford the Inspire or for new pilots in general. It features a 360° obstacle avoidance and has a new, completely re-designed 4K camera.

Tom Frey, Tom David Frey, Tom's Tech Time, DJI Mavic Pro

"Choosing the perfect drone isn't simple. Of course, it isn't.
There are plenty models with different specs made for various different situations and users on the market.

They all have pros and cons both - the perfect drone doesn't exist yet and probably never will."

DJI Mavic Pro Camera Drone

"My personal highlight though is the DJI Mavic Pro, a drone that combines many important aspects: many flight safety features as obstacle avoidance, ground sonar and tracking cameras (VPS), return-to-home and many more, next to that its size is an incredible argument for travellers and people who don't want to carry an extra backpack for their drone. Finally, the camera, even though it looks tiny and like a toy, is incredibly powerful.

Of course, it can't be compared to the camera of the DJI Inspire 1 or DJI Inspire 2, but in its segment, it beats many, if not all, other drones and cameras that are often more expensive and bulkier."

DJI Phantom 3 Professional

The Low Budget Drone

This drone is the perfect low budget drone and I have been using it for a long time. It offers a good 2.7K camera, many safety features and the power of the DJI Go App with all its features.

Parrot Disco Drone

The Drone for Pilots

As a pilot student I couldn't resist flying this drone (even though I don't own it). It showcases the principles of flight in perfection, but of course has a very weak camera - and it's too expensive.

DJI Osmo

Smooth Ground Shots

Choosing a ground camera that matches the style of our drones is a must for a professional overall look of our film.

DJI Phantom 3 Professional

Ultimate Sunhood

Seriously. Bright light can be very disturbing. Sometimes filming or taking photos is impossible due to the reflections. This Sunhood (not available in all countries) does a great job.

Parrot Disco Drone

25mm lens for X5/X5S/X5R

The 25mm with an aperture of 1.8 is my favourite lens for filming aerials with the DJI Inspire or DJI Osmo Pro. It is easy to handle and delivers cinematic images. In my eyes it is the best lens.

DJI Osmo

45mm lens for X5/X5S/X5R

The 45mm lens with an aperture of 1.8 delivers the most beautiful aerials. But it's a little more difficult to handle (as it is shakier than the 25mm for example). I wouldn't wan to miss mine though.

"Choosing the correct gear for editing is essential.

Nobody is interested in an uncut and hours long aerial video.

You can find all recommended editing accessories of mine here. But let me right now show you the main editing hard- and software components that I am using myself.

Yes, most of them aren't cheap, as I am editing film since years. Again, lower priced gear can be found here."
